Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 18 May 2025
This statement applies to the website https://alunikasystems.com operated by Alunika Systems.
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
Alunika Systems is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability, disability, age, device, or technology used. We believe in inclusive design and strive to make our digital presence usable for everyone, including people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
We recognise our responsibilities under the following legislation and standards:
- European Union: EU Web Accessibility Directive (Directive (EU) 2016/2102) and EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03);
- United Kingdom: Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/952); Equality Act 2010;
- United States: Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. § 794d); Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III;
- India: The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 (RPWD Act); Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW);
- UAE: UAE Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 on the Rights of People with Special Needs; UAE Web Content Accessibility Guidelines issued by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
2. Applicable Standards
Our target standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which is the internationally recognised benchmark for digital accessibility. We are working towards progressive conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as it is adopted across jurisdictions.
The WCAG 2.1 is built on four core principles — content must be:
- Perceivable: Information and UI components must be presentable in ways users can perceive (text alternatives for images, captions for video, adaptable content, sufficient colour contrast).
- Operable: UI components and navigation must be operable (keyboard accessible, no seizure-inducing content, sufficient time to read, navigable structure).
- Understandable: Information and the operation of the UI must be understandable (readable text, predictable pages, input assistance).
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
3. Conformance Status
The website at https://alunikasystems.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
"Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known gaps. Known non-conformances and the areas in which we are working to improve are described in Section 5 below.
4. Technical Specifications and Compatibility
The accessibility of this website depends on the following technologies:
- HTML5 (semantic markup for structure);
- CSS3 (visual styling and responsive layout);
- JavaScript (React SPA framework — client-side interactivity);
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 (Accessible Rich Internet Applications — roles, states, and properties for dynamic content);
- SVG (scalable vector graphics for icons).
These technologies are relied upon for conformance. The website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and environments:
- Screen Readers: NVDA + Firefox (Windows), JAWS + Chrome (Windows), VoiceOver + Safari (macOS/iOS), TalkBack + Chrome (Android);
- Browsers: Google Chrome (latest two versions), Mozilla Firefox (latest two versions), Apple Safari (latest two versions), Microsoft Edge (latest two versions);
- Zoom: Content remains accessible when zoomed to 400% without loss of content or functionality;
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape, Arrow keys);
- High Contrast Mode: Windows High Contrast Mode is supported.
5. Known Limitations and Remediation Plan
Despite our efforts to ensure accessibility, some content may present challenges. The following known limitations are being actively addressed:
